Women's Yoga for Healing ~ Full Moon in Virgo ~ Monday, 2/22/16, 7-8:30pm

Purification Activation ~ Ready, Set, Release!

The Full Moon in Virgo ~ or Chaste Moon ~ symbolizes purity. Chaste derives from the root word 'castus,' or pure.  Virtuous words matched with actions, joined with clean and clear intent, represent the polarity of this High Moon.

Pureness in character and quality create a positive polarity in all patterns. Purity indicates a state clean and free from anything that might weaken, impair or hinder our growth. In this sense, purity equates with energetic strength.

The Full Moon is an opportune time of the month for purging rituals to take place. The light the full moon offers illuminates those things that are interfering with our spiritual advancements.

The Goddess Arianrhod (ah-ree-AHN-rhohd) personifies the Chaste Moon. 'Arian' means silver and 'rhod' translates as wheel or disc, so she portrays the noble queen of the wheel or silver wheel. Akin to the mythical Ariadne, who unravels the solar system, Arianrhod acts like a stellar Goddess of time, space, and energy. She is the keeper of the Silver Wheel of Stars which symbolizes time. She is often identified as the Goddess of reincarnation.

As a Goddess of higher love and wisdom, she represents the elements of air and water. Famous for her beauty, Arianrhod acts as a Star and Moon Goddess, appearing fair, gentle and powerful. Her skin glows translucent like starlight, and her midnight blue robes shimmer silver. The fabric looks transparent, decorated with star-like jewels and celestial designs.

Arianrhod is said to be able to shape-shift into a large Owl, and through the great Owl-eyes, sees even into the darkness of the human subconscious and soul. The Owl symbolises death and renewal, wisdom, moon magic, and initiations. She is said to move with strength and purpose through the night, her wings of comfort and healing spread to give solace to those who seek her.

~ Hymn to Arianrhod ~

Arianrhod of the Silver Wheel

By all the names men give thee

We, thy hidden children, humbly kneel

Thy truth to hear, thy countenance to see.

Here in the circle cast upon the Earth

Yet open to the stars ~ unseen, yet real ~

Within our hearts give understanding birth,

Our wounds of loss and loneliness to heal.

Isis unveiled and Isis veiled, thou art;

The Earth below our feet, the Moon on high.

In thee these two shall never be apart ~

The magick of the Earth and Sky.
